HDTV. You know you want one. Us. We felt that greater clarity than we HTDV, smoother motion, richer colors are used, offers, surround sound, and the potential for higher performance of the various components of the material that we want to cooperate. But before buying, it is useful to understand the technology and related matters.
First, the purchase of an HDTV andAfter a standard cable box can not receive high-definition television. To watch high definition TV, you need three elements: an HDTV source, an HDTV channel, HDTV and the show itself. The source, the HDTV sets that display both regular and HDTV images, but the standard analog TV on an HDTV display device may be disappointing. But that probably shows a little 'better than a standard set, but is still far from what weexpect from HDTV. big screen and, in particular, exaggerating the deficiencies in standard programming, but without shame.
As for the channel and the show, most of the major networks now broadcast most of their prime-time shows in high definition on HD channels and several other networks broadcast in high definition too. However, cable and satellite, not complying with all available networks and stations do not broadcast HD, not alltheir content in HD. Find your favorite shows in high definition could lose a hit-and-off.
The good news is that it has changed. The United States is currently in transition to digital television (DTV). As of July 1, 2006 all new televisions 25 inches or larger, or DTV tuner, high-definition programs simply by connecting an antenna, or it should be "ready for DTV." DTV ready-set require a separate tuner (or cable orCable Box) to the programming in high definition. Subscribers to pay TV (cable or satellite), with an HD-ready set do not need the DTV tuner, but can display, selecting a HDTV set-top box that tunes HDTV channels.
HDTV, the "Digital Cable Ready (DCR) is the voting without the digital cable box outside, but they need a special card cable, available from the cable provider.
On March 1, 2007, all new 13-inch orThe greater DTV tuner or DTV-ready. But although the FCC has no obligation to days DTV tuner is not required, which sells kits to be able to display HDTV resolutions. Consumers want to see HDTV as it should be considered useful to ensure that a new series has the possibility .
On February 17, 2009, over-the-air analog broadcasting will be turned off, and all are broadcasting DTV. Thereafter, standard NTSC TV can not receive on-airBroadcasts, but the government could not subsidize converters for the conversion.
HDTV Basics
HDTV refers to high-definition television (or, as some prefer, TV Fucking Huge). It is not the only form of digital transmission, but is considered the best. It offers better resolution than other digital TV standards and color better than our current analog TVs, which are based on the NTSC standard used in North AmericaAmerica.
NTSC stands for National Television Systems Committee, a body of rules issued in 1953, but the video professionals are able to provide you with a wink, that the initials actually not the same color twice. The NTSC standard for the reception problems that a legendary problem of color distortion should not be exceeded with HDTV.
Widescreen HDTV broadcasts images with details and excellent quality with two analog TV or other forms ofdigital television (DTV). HDTV 's superiority is based on three factors: the aspect ratio, resolution and frame rate.
A standard analog television has an aspect ratio of 4:3 (ie four units wide by 3 units high), which makes it "almost square" shape, which is also common in computer monitors. But with a large aspect ratio of 16: 9 (16 units and 9 units high) provides HDTV, a "cinema" for television shows or films shot in widescreen. Complications arise because not allTelevision is filmed in widescreen. With standard or high definition programming is 4:3 HDTV display vertical black bars on either side of the screen, or perhaps to extend or enlarge the image.
Problems from the aspect ratio are workarounds, but this requires that your TV or video source (for example, players satellite, cable or DVD) have control over aspect ratio. To avoid disappointment, make sure the TV you buy has this feature.
As withComplete resolution of the sample resolution, HDTV offers more than twice the sharpness of analog TV. The resolution is 640x480 pixels, or 480 lines of detail visible. At the highest level in nearly six times better resolution HDTV-1, 920x1, 080 pixels or 1080 lines visible details.
HDTV is available in two different resolutions: 1080i and 720p. The former has more lines and pixels, but has a progressive scan formatfluid picture while moving. Is not necessarily better than others, just different. A third format, p 1080, combines the best features of both, but the content of the program is rare.
Frame rate refers to the number of single-set creates a complete picture on the screen per second. As mentioned previously, frame rate, based on the "i" interlaced and frame rate, the "P" progressive in general. Frame rates are progressive or progressive scan lines per frameresulting from the screen from left to right. In an interlaced scan, or frame rate is only every second line, and then repeat the process to fill the gaps.
DTV frame rates range from 24 frames per second and 60 frames per second. So an HDTV "1080 i" has a resolution of 1920 x 1, 080 pixels and can display 60 frames per second, interlaced.
Looking ahead
It is safe to predict that HDTV is purchased today, but not to invalidate allin the near future. There is also a safe prediction that, over time, become even more in price, and are offered more and more content in HD format.
Some analysts expect to see a bigger content on-air broadcasting, as the mandate of the FCC for DTV tuner. And it is certainly my expectation that many of us have HDTV rip off our hair when we were at, not the melody!
